Being a Shrewdd intern

This past week, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work as an intern at Shrewdd

Born and raised a Londoner, I was apprehensive to go and work in Halifax – an ominous, unknown quantity that I’ve never had reason to visit before.

But then, all of a sudden, I had a reason – and a very good one! So I hopped on a train at London King’s Cross, then hopped off in Halifax after a short stop over and change in Leeds and voila here I was in Halifax 22 minutes later, in the town that gave us Ed Sheeran.

I am very thankful to the team – everybody in the office has been really kind and welcoming, and this has made settling in as easy as it can be. As someone interested in a career in PR, coming to Shrewdd has provided a fantastic chance to get some hands-on experience under my belt. It has been great to work with clients that play significant roles on the world stage, in doing so testing my ability to produce and place engaging content.

Some of the clients that I have worked with include Wakefield Acoustics, Courier Express and My Mobility Guide.

My time here has enlightened the world behind what I see every day in the news, and shown me the mechanisms by which companies amplify their voice, and spread their message. I also discovered that the bank, Halifax, actually has its headquarters here, which was a somewhat satisfying discovery!

With this experience gained, and lessons learned, I leave better prepared to further discover what the world of PR has to offer, and extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to a company whose vision and effective strategy is to deliver tangible, successful results to its clients.
